Legal guide
Everything you need to know about the legal notice: what it’s for, what the law requires and how to create it correctly for your website or business.
The legal notice is the document that identifies the website owner and governs the terms of use of the site. The Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 and the Companies Act 2006 require the owner's details to be displayed permanently, easily and free of charge: name or company name, company registration number (Companies House) / VAT registration number, registered office address, email and, where applicable, company registry details.
Create your legal notice in 2 minutes. Answer a few questions and download the document as Word, PDF or copy it. Free and no sign-up.
